Portfolio Update

Well, I took a pretty good hit with $HGSI – got out at the open of pre-market, so the loss was big, but not as big as it could have been.  Life goes on.

• Sold $AMAT for 2%
• Sold $FEED for 2%
• Holding $RAD
• Scalped long and short on $HGSI today – made some pretty good cash here - no, didn’t recover the large loss, but in the right direction.
• Scalped $FAZ twice today, both for 1% gains.  worked out pretty well even if the moves were 1% each… adds up.
• Scalped $CHLN for 2%
• Scalped $STSI for 1%
• Scalped $DAN for 2%

Overall a very down day thanks to HGSI, but I can’t complain – I got some of it back  and learned a few things along the way (try not to hold overnight).  I’m still in the game and goals are still intact.

Portfolio Update

As usual, I had limited time to play last week, but here is how the week ended up..

• Sold $FIG for 6% gain
• Exited $XOMA for wash.. didn’t gain or lose a thing.
• Exited remainder of $MENT for 4.5% gain
• Exited remainder of $CTIC for 4% gain

Overall, my sells didn’t bring me massive returns considering the great volatility throughout the week. Oh, well.

New positions

Against my better judgment, I took some positions Friday and held over the weekend – I have no idea why  – it is  a trading no-no for me…  Oh, we’ll. We’ll see how it plays out.

• $AMAT – Long at 12.59 – large position
• $HGSI- Short at 3.47 – large position
• $RAD – Long at 1.27 (MA50 support holding, I hope) – small position
• $FEED – Long 5.7.  Will not likely hold if it falls much under MA50 – small position

The Tuesday Night Stock Scan

Yup, I’ve been away a while – lots of stuff going on at work and in my personal life.  However, I intend to be back on a regular basis again… so, sorry if life has been rough without me.. lol.

I’m currently long CENX (in at $5.88) – Might take some off the table tomorrow, especially if we hit $7 – some resistance there.

I am also long BKE – this is a longer term play, but I’m watching earnings closely in a few days just in case the report isn’t that great.   I like BKE – good shopping experience. The energy in the stores is bubbly (the kids dig it).  I’m in under $32.

Some new stocks showing up on my screens this evening:

CTIC – I like CTIC here – call it a hunch, or a gut, or whatever.. but i like the consolidation on decreasing volume… a move might be imminent.

CHTRQ – Tightening bollinger bands and sitting on MA50.  I’m interested with a stop just under MA50.  Risky penny, but the stop is setup nicely.

QTM – MA50/MA200 cross coming? Full Sto turning bullish. ADX cross? I’m possibly long over MA20.

LSI might be an intersting play long with MA200 support and stop just below.  Needs to move through first. Full Sto turning bullish.

Sunday 4/19 Watch List Update

It is the weekend, so time to clean up the Watch List.. remove stocks that didn’t play out as well as those that were successful. Overall, it was a great week and many of the Watch List ideas were quite profitable.  Admittedly, not all stocks were my ideas, but instead, an accumulation of both mine and others from, primarily, the stockwits networks.

Stocks I’m removing from the list today:

Winners:

CEP – posted on the 10th – I was looking for a horizontal breakout above $2.0 and MA50.  Breakout confirmed on 14th and hasn’t looked back.  BOOOOM.

EGLE - added on the 10th – I was looking for triangle breakout and man did we get one. KKKAAABOOOOOMM!

STI – added on the 10th – I was looking for horizontal breakout above $15. STI is now sitting north of $18.

HTM – broke through trendline resistance, but still worth watching – sitting on a lot of horizontal resistance at $.90

CPE – originally mentioned on March 19th, CPE continues to move well. May have hit resistance, but what a great move on the 14th from under $1.5 to over $2

PFE finally moved through trendline resistance and MA50… took it a while, but experienced a great move on Friday.

CUB – added on the 11th – performed a head fake Monday, but then pushed strong through the end of the week.  Very strong  breakout.

ETFC – added on the 11th – financials had a huge week and ETFC was no exception.

Great Day!

Despite the market’s late day sell-off, it was a great day as many of my watch list stocks finally broke out… and some of them in a big way.

CENX proved it’s strength today. I’m long.. still having some issues pushing through $4. Tuesday will be interesting.

EGLE – I didn’t take a position, but the chart definitely gave an opportunity to do so. We’ll see where it goes now.

STI – BOOOOOOMMMMMM.  Horizontal resistance was taken out for a perfect day trade.

HTM- Trendline resistance taken out.  Now at horizontal resistance.  I like the volume, but not quite as interested.

PLD continues to look strong.

ETFC – The mover of the day! KABBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOMM. Compared to yesterday’s chart.

FEED - an even bigger mover than ETFC!  Beautiful, textbook – whatever you want to call it.. I call it +30%.

FCEL – I took a position as it moved through horizontal resistance and MA50.
