New On the Long Watch List

Check out my latest long swing/scalp ideas for Monday – would help if the market could hold these levels or rebound back up for a few days…

F – I struggle to find love in the auto industry right now, but F tested horizontal support Friday and will be worth watching Monday for possible swing entry long if it holds.

BDSI – Building a little flag against 5.00 with nice volume last week. Looking for possible breakout here.

PPHM -  .70 was previous support and now resistance.  If it moves though with volume, I way swing.

TELK – I like it.  Yes, it released news Friday morning about basically sold off the rest of the day, but it is now on trendline support and the sell-off was likely from all of the cold feet Friday.  I might swing long if it holds trendline.

COIN might be an interesting swing off trendline support. Needs a volume pop.

CPST – sitting on mild horizontal support and MA50 with turning STO. Looking for support bouce long swing.

ZHNE – Triangle consolidation on MA50 support.  Worth watching for breakout.

NXG – Strong horizontal  and MA50 support. Long swing with stop just under 2.50.

ONTY - Held support Friday. Time to swing back up?

CLDX - gotta watch $ for possible momo breakout tomorrow.

GERN – Can GERN hold horizontal support and MA200 with bottoming Full Sto?

Others (less setup, but worth watching):

XOMA might have bottomed Friday.

CRXX – turning Full Sto.

INO – trading in a box.  Could move, but I worry about H1N1 speculation plays right now.

CHINA – weak horizontal support with trendline support.

My Charts Performance

Here are a few charts that I’ve tossed out on TwitPics that have moved recently – most up following the market, a few down. I’m hoping to track which setups seem to perform better than others.

This list doesn’t include the stocks I added yesterday (natural gas setups):

$DENNPosted on July 10th, price 2.18. Big move today pushed it up to close at 2.50 (9% move).

$PPHMPosted on July 30th, price .81.  Closed today at .80 (flat).  What’s wrong with this setup?  Maybe nothing…. possible that it just hasn’t moved yet. Worth watching.

$YRCW -Posted on July 30th, price 1.66.  Closed today at 1.66.  This stock never broke horizontal resistance at 1.75.  Fail.

$CVMPosted on July 30th, price .44.  Closed today at .56, but reached as high as .63.  Huge returns.

$HEBPosted on July 19th, price 2.34. Has since fallen below support.

$CPSTPosted on July 10th, price .76.  Closed today at 1.16 – MASSIVE MOVE up 35%.

The good news is that none of the losers registered a buy indicator.  In other words, they were setup, but never broke through resistance or key technical level that would have triggered a long position.   The winners, of course, did.  PPHM has still not broken out (created a buy), but is still setup and worth watching.

This is encouraging.  I feel that if I stick to strict rules that I’ve established for myself, it is statistically favorable that I’ll profit.  Keep it simple and stick to your rules.

The Daily Scan

I’ve been preachin the love for $HEB and I finally got the breakout I was looking for.  There are numerous reasons I like this stock and I think it should have enough legs to get to 3 in the short term. we’ll see.

$CPST – Full Sto is shooting up with congestion price movement. I’m looking for the breakout through MA200 soon.

$STSI – RSI and Full Sto moving up with strong volume – breakout soon?

$AGEN – Will AGEN hold MA50?  If it does, I could swing it long.

$SPPI - Improving volume and rounded bottom on Full Sto.  Could be an interesting long swing play here.  Watching for MA20 support hold tomorrow.

$HSTX – Above 6.75

$FOE above 3.25 horizontal resistance

$FNSR – Nice move through MA200.  ADX crossing. Might be an interesting swing long here.

Watch List Catch Up

OK. It’s the weekend and time to look back at the stocks I tossed on the watch list on July 5th.  Yes, I know.. I wanted to add more, but time was not something high on my availability list last week.

The big winner was $DAN on Friday – kabbbboooommmm. I, being away from my computer, of course, was unable to get the move, but I was able to play the $AXL follow for some good coin.

$XOMA – I’m not too interested unless we get through MA50 again.

$CPST is begging to collapse under $.75.  I’ll likely not play this for a swing but could be interested in any kind of intraday move (scalp).

$SAY was a big winner this week, as well, with a perfect move through MA20.

Outside of that, I don’t like the way the other charts are setting up.  I’ll write separately on solar plays.
