Last week I posted select stocks to watch during the threat of a hurricane. Well, I’m re-posting and adding some new stocks and ways for you to track the storms yourself.
If you’re interested in tracking the Atlantic storms, this site really rocks. If you open up the map to full screen, you get a great perspective on the storms and where they are headed. At the time of this writing, it looks like Ana is headed towards the gulf and the more organized Bill is headed up the east coast. Bill is going to be big.

Good evening.
It happened again.. I missed an intraday bull rally. Crap.
This morning I resolved to get away from the market to catch up on projects at my day job. As with most things in life, timing is everything and today sure offered the right time for some tasty scalps after a 2 1/2 day retraction. And I wasn’t there. Oh, well. I did manage to book a 6% gain on a large position in $SRS yesterday (2 day swing trade), so I was content to unplug the computer for a day. Blah – bad play Ryan. Now that I have my frustrations of missing ‘the move’ out of my system, let’s look forward.
A few things jumped out at me when I opened my [popup]Watch List[/popup] a few minutes ago. First, $NAVI was a clear winner. I added this nugget to the WL back on the 5th (after close) at 1.46. NAVI has since moved up over 21%. Another triangle doing me right (if I would have played the bastard).
$PSUN has also pushed up over 16% since being added on the 3rd at 3.49. Both NAVI and PSUN will be removed from the WL since the setup has been satisfied. The rest is up to you.
You’ll notice others are no longer living on the WL for the same reason, like huge winners $CRBC, $AHR, $ATPG, $ALY, $DYN, $WTNY, $HTE and $DVN.
I’m pulling these off the list because of a lack of interest:
$FLEX – This one just continues to be bullish. No real breakout setup here. I also killed $Q for no great reason, but not keeping it for a good reason either. I’ll notice if it moves strong through MA50, but not keeping it on the WL. $PEIX has been removed. I don’t like the company and don’t like the nose dive in the Full Sto. $OCLY didn’t breakout out of channel to the upside, but now could to the downside. UG.
$BCON makes me sad. I was really hoping for something strong through MA50, but it never happened. May look again if it can hold support at .63ish.
$FCEL is off the list, but never far from my mind. It is trying to coil down to a nice triangle and we may see a pop back up soon. I’ll be there.
I’m leaving $PPHM on the list, but for a different reason than originally defined. I want to see if it can hold horizontal support at .7. Yes, possible swing back up to .85.
OK, that’s it for the Watch List cleanup. Now time to find new opportunities. See you soon.

It’s the weekend and that means it’s time to mow the yard, wash the dog, run some errands, and most mportantly, clean up the [popup]Watch List[/popup].
I closed out a handful of the stocks because they satisfied their technical setup. The two biggest winners were $CRBC ( up 98%) and $AHR (up 50%). There are still a handful on the list that are technically coiled and ready to pop. I’ll have an eye on these Monday and into early next week:
$CRGN – running sideways – looking for move through 1.45.
$NAVI – we’ve already seen a small move out of the triangle, but I’m looking for more with the opening bollinger bands.
$TSTR – this triangle may have found support on MA50. Possible swing opportunity with stop just below MA50.
$PEIX – looking for move through .40
$BCON – looking a little messy on the daily charts, but I might try to swing long i fit can find the .80 range.
$CFW – like BCON, CFW is kind of drifting around sideways, but now the bollinger bands are starting to open. I’m hoping for a blast through .80.
$USTI – you talk about coiled and ready to pop. A move through MA50 and I’m very interested
$DYN – looking for support at 1.9 and then a move back up through trendline resistance. I see a long entry around 2.05 with tight stop.
$FCEL – possible swing long entry here at MA50 support and narrowing bollinger bands. Safer move would be to wait for breakout above 4.2 horizontal resistance.
$OCLR – above .7 horizontal resistance
$URRE – coiling. I’ll watch what happens around 1.15.

As expected, the market had a hard time adding to Monday gains, but there were some winners out there. Today’s Watch List was kind of boring. However, I gotta talk about YRCW – KABOOM…
Ironically, the first winner to mention was $YRCW. One day after I said it hasn’t broken resistance, and quite honestly, when I was losing interest, it decides to rocket to the moon. I’ve been looking for the 1.75 breakout and if I would have stuck by my rules today, I would have still made 20+ % had I entered at that point. Congrats if you waited patiently for this move. Sticking to the rules DOES pay off.
$FNSR continues to move. Congrats if you got in here after MA200 support bounce.
Current Watch List:
And speaking of patience – $BCON is testing mine, but I still want to be in this and ready for a move. Tight stops, of course.
I’m taking $UIS off the Watch List because it made its move. Happy times.
Patience – again – waiting for the $PPHM move through .85.
Same story with $CFW – waiting on .80 to hit.
$ETFC – Waiting on move. I’m interested above 1.55
$UTSI – Come on 1.8 – DO IT.
Really, the same story runs all the way down the new additions to the WL. $NG had the best day and continues to look bullish.
Natural Gas Watch List Update:
The bottom 1/2 of the WL focusses on natural gas / oil plays from Sunday’s research – lots of stocks were setup and ready to move. As you can see, many of them have. I’ll just leave the Nat Gas list up for the rest of the week to see how it plays the week out.

Quickly running down the existing list before I get to a few new ones:
$GNBT – I took some profits here last week and am not really that interested anymore. We’ll see if we see some strength enter next week.
$BCON – I still like this one, just struggling with an entry. If I take a position, you’ll see it in my tweets.
$SONS was a wonderful swing trade as it moved through MA200. I’m taking it off the list to look for new setups.
$UIS – Still watching horizontal resistance at 1.90
$CVM – Got the move, but am not interested in a new long position until it finds its way back to MA50. Taking off the list.
$ALTU is just not behaving – too much volatility and not enough trending. I’m leaving this one alone, for now.
$APOL – Hmm. Not a lot of interest here.. I think I’ll move on.
$AKRX – I was really interested in AKRX Wednesday night. Thursday would have been an interesting scalp day, but now I don’t see a comfortable entrance that fits my style.
$YRCW - Fail. Glad it didn’t break 1.75 before the fail or I might have gotten hurt
$PPHM – Definitely keeping this one around. It is trying desperately to breakout of this MA50 support ascending triangle. A move to .85 and I’m interested.
$BARE – I was actually watching BARE as a short if it fell below 7.5. Instead, BARE has made a very nice bull move. But, gotta take it off my list because I’m looking for setups, not stocks that have already moved.
See my Sunday post for new stocks to watch for next week… gut tells me it may not be so fun for the bulls, so I’m preparing for some shorts, just in case.
