Market was up, so it wasn’t exactly rocket science to find numerous profitable trades. Problem for me was time – I was too busy to participate as much as I would have liked to. Oh, well. Still did well today.
- Sold SOMX for 8% gain.
- Scalped HYTM on pennant breakout for 12% gain.
- Still holding SONS and looking for more upside. Nice volume today.
- Holding MCZ – I like the tight bollinger bands – would like to see breakout soon.
- Holding SYNM, but thinking about scaling out a bit this week. Nice gains.
- Holding KERX, but not all that excited.

I’m usually not one for making predictions, but what the hell. Here are my guesses for 2010 based on nothing more than gut.
- Housing market will fall again… this time heavily and your home value will go down another 10-20% depending on where you live.
- Oil prices will touch $100 and will touch $50.
- The war in Afghanistan will look more and more like a mistake and we’ll shift focus on Pakistan and Yeman.
- There will be major terrorist attacks in Europe, India, and the U.S.
- More earthquakes.

- Weather will make the news more than usual – big flood and tornado year in the U.S.
- Unemployment will finish 2010 around 8%.
- The DOW will hit 9600 before finishing at 1150.
- China will lead the world out of a recession, but lead itself into an environmental nightmare.
- Dell will surprise folks in the wireless business.
- Microsoft will start taking market share from Apple, but Google Chrome OS will impress.
- Apple will not have as big a year as many might think.
- Twitter will evolve… somehow.
- Bloomberg TV will take CNBC market share.
- Ford Motor Company will have a great year.
- A major disease will be cured (vaccine created).
- Iranian government will kill hundreds of their own people in an effort to curtail efforts to overthrow the government.
- Americans will save more for 1/2 the year, then spend more in the second 1/2 of the year.
- Crime will be on the rise across the nation year over year.
- More people will volunteer, but more people will also be on food stamps.
- Americans will be increasingly divided until later in the year… then we’ll come together.
- Gold will not be much of an investment for most of the year.
- Asian countries will receive a lot of investment interest.
- Education will become a major issue for America and we’ll finally start caring.

Very Quentin Tarantino – Movie broken up into chapters with plenty of graphic killing and total disregard for human life. It’s all about the body count. Most of the scenes are setup the same way – tense dialog creating so much discomfort that I feel the urge to yell out, “just kill the guy already.” Overall, I was entertained. Was worth the Netflix rental. 3 outa 5 stars.

Wow.
Simply put, an amazing visual experience.
Before it all got started, I removed the fancy 3D glasses from the plastic bag marked with a message cautioning against wearing them in the sun as they offer no protection against harmful UV rays. I was concerned about how I was going to handle the near 3 hour experience with the shades now pressing a little too tightly against my temples – headache right around the corner, I thought.
However, once the movie started, all of my concerns slipped away and I was transported into a world of imaginati0n that completely blew my mind. I had high expectations, but I was honestly not prepared for what I saw. I’m not sure I blinked the entire time. The 3D pixel candy experience was so insane that I am now completely infatuated with blue women.
Now, I will admit – the character development was a little weak and the plot was overly predictable and simple, but the message was pure and sweet. Overall, I have to say I loved it – it’s just one of those theater moments well worth the 8 bucks.

I found a bunch of new years trading ideas and thought I would compile them here for you:
As for my resolutions for 2010, I have a lot – My health will be my first priority. Without it, not much else matters or can be accomplished. I plan on exercising more and eating better.
Outside of that, I will continue to work to make Bulls On Wall Street the best stock trading/learning/research site on the web. I’ve met some amazing people through BULLS and am jazzed up about what the future holds.
Learning will be a big part of 2010, as well. I plan on reading more and making a point to meet others and join into conversations that before I may have been too aprehensive to have a voice. This world needs more education, understanding, and cooperation. I plan to be in the middle of it all.
This year means more ‘yes’ and less ‘no’. Let’s get started.

Lots of selling today as traders cleaned out their crappy trades and cashed in their profits. I can’t say that I played my trades very well today – partly because I was away from my computer for most of the day. Take KERX, for example. I should have taken a little off the table this morning. Instead, I’m holding full position headed into Monday only up .02 / share.
Sold second 1/2 of DARA at .50 this morning for a nice gain. Double digit % – hell yeah.
Still holding SYNM (nice day today), SOMX (didn’t do much, but still looks good for more upside – I’ll be careful here Monday), MCZ (I’m losing interest.. need to be careful with my small position here), SONS (still consolidating triangle – holding while it holds pattern).

- Went long KERX today on nice bounce off MA50. Volume looks good and many of the technicals turned bullish.
- Went long DARA on opening bollinger bands (.42 entry). I love the volume and overall strength of today’s move. I sold 1/2, but still hanging around to see what happens next.
- Went long SOMX at1.04 today. Looking for volume continuation tomorrow. MACD bullish crossover likely tomorrow.
- Still holding SONS, SYNM and MCZ. We’ll see how they play out. SONS appears to be setting up for a move.
